Autonomy vs. Community
Today, working remotely has become a perceived right versus a benefit and to many of us, seen as the work ideal. Having control over our workspace and schedule is valued, but it can come at the cost of meaningful connections and a sense of belonging. While many of us work to live, the life we live at work still matters. Many of us crave the camaraderie and belonging we experience through being part of a team, and it hard to truly create that in an entirely remote environment. When we assess what we really want from our professional lives, it is likely more than a paycheck.
