How deep is your health?
Most of us tend to prioritize our health in one way or another, but truly holistic health is made up of seven key dimensions - how do you rate yourself in each?
Physical health - This includes having a healthy body, good physical fitness, strength, endurance, nutrition, managing illnesses and injuries, etc. Good physical health allows us to function optimally.
Mental health - Involves our psychological and emotional well-being. It includes managing stress, anxiety, and depression, maintaining a positive outlook, having good self-esteem, and having healthy social relationships.
Spiritual health - Refers to finding meaning and purpose in life, having inner peace, values, and principles that guide us, and a sense of connection to something larger than ourselves. It provides a foundation for life.
Social health - Involves having positive relationships with others, a sense of belonging, and contributing to our community. Humans are social beings and connections are vital.
Financial health - Having good financial habits, managing money wisely, achieving financial goals, financial security, and independence. Reduces money-related stress.
Environmental health - Living and promoting sustainability, being mindful of how our actions impact the environment, and making choices that nurture the planet.
Occupational health - Finding meaning, satisfaction, and enrichment in our jobs or other productive activities. Using our talents and skills meaningfully.
Intellectual health - Engaging our mind, expanding our knowledge and wisdom, learning new skills, and seeking novel experiences to remain engaged and sharp.
The key is balance across these different spheres of health. Together they promote overall well-being and allow us to live meaningful, purposeful, and vibrant lives.
