Should your work outlast your legacy?
For many of us, our work is an integral part of our identity. Either real or in our own minds, it can’t continue without us - something that keeps us working longer - hours and years, and sometimes not delegating both task and leadership to others enough. The truth is, some things we do won’t continue when we leave them, or maybe not evolve the way we might have fashioned. This does not lessen our accomplishment or make our toil pointless - especially when we’ve made an effort to invest in others to grow and nurture the work forward. In the end, we should separate ego from outcome.
